   The best solution is to keep extra paint when you paint your house. If you have done this, you may find it easiest just to repaint over the rusted area periodically.

   When repainting is not an option, consider attempting to remove the stains with a bathroom rust-removing product such as CLR. These can be found at your local hardware store.

   Pour CLR into a small bowl.

   Soak the end of a rag in your bowl until it is saturated with the liquid.

   Rub the liquid on the rust stain vigorously in an attempt to remove the rust.

   If the surface is pitted, such as stucco, you may have some success using a stiff bristled brush to get the chemical into the pits.

   Immediately rinse off the chemical with cold water.
