Quick Simple Way to Jump Start Your 12 Volt Car Battery

Are you stuck at some point and need to jump start your 12 volt car battery.  In order to start your car battery, you will require a set of jumper cables and to access the same a second vehicle that has a full-charged battery. This article will guide you to quickly jump start your own vehicle by following few simple steps.

• Jumper cables
• Safety glasses
• Gloves
• Other vehicle with fully-charged battery

1.First thing is to turn off all the switches on the car with the dead battery and then open its hood. Now remove the shields from the battery in order to access the terminals.
2.Now bring the second vehicle with full battery next to the vehicle with the dead battery. Position both of them equally to attach the jumper cables, open the second vehicle’s hood and make sure you’ve turned off the ignition. Also remove any of the shields that are covering the battery and put on your gloves and safety glasses before jumping the battery.
3.Next you have to attach the positive clamp of your jumper cables to the positive terminal (+) of the battery. For your information the positive jumper cable clamp is generally red or yellow in color, while the negative is always black.
4.Now you need to attach the other positive cable clamp to the positive battery terminal on the secondary vehicle. Also connect the negative clamp to the negative (-) terminal. And now you are left with just one negative clamp.
5.Thereafter, the remaining negative clamp needs to be attached to the engine block on the vehicle with the drained battery. The negative clamp can be attached to any bolt or bracket, but make sure not to join it with any fuel line, carburetor or moving part of the engine like the fan or pulley.
6.Start the ignition on your secondary vehicle and permit it to operate for few minutes, this will in turn help the dead battery to charge. After few minutes try and start the vehicle with the drained battery.
7.Now unhook the cables and remove the negative clamp first which is attached to the metal bolt or bracket. Then remove the negative clamp on the secondary vehicle, followed by the positive clamp on the same. After all this finally you have to remove the positive clamp from the vehicle with the previously dead battery. Do not allow the clamps to touch and also keep them away from the engine’s moving parts.
8.You are all set to drive the vehicle and the alternator will charge the battery after you drive for thirty minutes
