Few Simple User-Friendly Steps to Maintain Proper Tire Pressure in a Car

Tire pressure is quite an important aspect to keep in mind and maintaining the same is very crucial for every car owner. Not to worry at all as maintaining a proper tire pressure is not a tiresome task and can be easily handled thus saving your precious time and money. Many of us do ignore the fact that taking care of the tires will enhance its lifespan plus the tires will render increased fuel mileage, else degraded tires will damage the wheels of your vehicle. So here are the simple steps to follow for properly maintaining the tire pressure.
1.It’s a good practice to measure the tire pressure frequently specially after long rides. It’s recommended that examining the tires for proper amount of pressure and inflation must be carried atleast one in a month or as mentioned in the owner’s manual.
2.Make sure that you measure the tire pressure when the tires are cold, as measuring the pressure just after the drive will always give inaccurate results. And in order to get the accurate rating you must measure when the car hasn’t been driven for at least 3 hours.
3.In case of low air pressure, immediately fill the tires with a powered air pump. Don’t drive your car with low tire pressure as it will lead to lower mileage. Correct air pressure will render flawless driving plus the tires will last longer too.
4.One important tip is to check the tire pressure again after every 10-15 seconds so that the balance is maintained and you avoid the mistake of over inflating the car tires.
5.Do ensure that the valve stem caps are placed firmly on the tires so that you don’t lose them when you are not measuring the tire pressure or filling the air in the tires.
6.While driving also remember to avoid the potholes on the busy roads specially when in high speed. Hitting these potholes especially in the rainy season when you cannot locate them is quite dangerous, as they create small loopholes in your tires causing them to lose air pressure. Better avoid the lying junk on the road as different remains or trash can harm your tires leading to puncture.
