Simple Tricks to Remove Car Fuses

As getting advance in every field, the motor vehicle safety is also not far behind and the fuse does play a crucial part in the car model since a very long time. Fuses actually protect your car from electrical short circuits and power loads that damage the equipment or begin to catch fire. All the electrical accessories present in the vehicle are protected by the fuse design. The fuses basically blow because of a momentary overload but a bad fuse can be easily replaced by following simple directed tricks. What all things you’ll require to remove the car fuses are mentioned below:
Required Things:
1.Owner’s manual
2.Safety glasses
3.Flashlight
4.Small pliers
5.Fuse puller
6.Fuses
Simple tricks to follow:
1.Check out the owner’s manual and it will easily tell you how to locate the fuse box. It’s usually a small plastic box of square or rectangular shape. You can easily open the box without the help of any tool as it is covered with a tab that pops open. Many of the car models have a second fuse box located inside the engine compartment. The fuses will be small in size and of plastic with two-pronged tabs plugged into a slot. And depending on the amperage, they will be of red, green, blue or yellow color. You can easily see the marked amps on the panel and corresponding fuses, they’ll range from 5 to 35 amps in increments of 5. The old car models have small, glass, tubular fuses, which are 1/2 to 1 inch long with stainless steel caps on each end.
2.Now locate the fuse panel, in many vehicles it is set under the dashboard on the driver’s side but you’ll require a flashlight for the same. While you can even check out on other location like lower half or side of the driver’s dash panel, inside the glove box, and under the hood near one of the fenders or firewall. The word ‘Fuses’ is always mentioned on the cover of the fuse panel. The panel size is same as an ipod or somewhere around it when it is under the dashboard else slightly larger when located under the hood.
3.Just pull out the panel cover and check out the fuse location and details with the help of owner’s manual. You can locate the amps and associated parts stamped on the panel next to each fuse with labels or numbers.
4.You need to discover and identify which fuse is creating electrical problem.
5.Once you’ve discovered the blown fuse, just remove it. Many of the car models come with plastic fuses and usually have a special tool in the fuse panel. The fuse puller is somewhat like a small plastic tweezers, which has special teeth to pull the fuses. The older glass fuse models are not equipped with a puller and you can easily buy one from any of the automotive supply store. Both the fuses can be pulled with the help of small regular needle-nose shaped pliers. Remember to protect your eyes with safety glasses.
6.Carefully examine the fuses, the plastic ones are transparent in look and you’ll see the U-shaped metal link inside that connects the two prongs. If the fuse is blown, you’ll immediately recognize it by a broken link. While in glass fuses the thin filament of glass breaks apart when blown.
7.Gently replace the blown fuse with the same length and rating or color and rating. Few of the new models come with spares; else you can purchase them from a local automotive store. Just take the hold of plastic fuse with your hand, holder or pliers and push the same into the slot. Make sure while handling the glass fuse you snap it in, one at a time.

5.Now gradually pour the coolant into the reservoir until the fluid level reaches the “full” mark. Its better you use a funnel to prevent spilling.
6.After the coolant is added in your engine, simply replace the cap on reservoir and close the hood.
7.You can also add coolant directly into the radiator if coolant reservoir is not present. Find out the radiator cap and pour in fluid until the reservoir is filled.
